Here you can find out what WikiPagan is all about. What drives us, and what are the goals we set for ourselfs. But most of all, what WikiPagan strives to become.

WikiPagan is, first of all, a Wiki. The Wikipedia defines wiki as: "A Wiki or wiki (pronounced w?kē, wēkē or vēkē;) is a website (or other hypertext document collection) that allows users to add content, as on an Internet forum, but also allows anyone to edit the content."

This defintion entails a few things: the collected users and editors of this website are responsible for it's contents, and as virtually anyone can become a user or editor, the number of people collaboratively working on this website is endless.

This is nothing new. By 2005, thanks to the MediaWiki software, countless wiki's on a variety of subjects have sprouted throughout the Web. The bigest projects of these, with the largest scope, are Wikipedia and it's sisterprojects, aiming to be the largest collection of all knowledge, a universal encyclopedia.

What sets WikiPagan aside from the rest, is it's subject and audience: the Pagan community. Here at WikiPagan, we gather information by and for our Pagan audience. This can include a wide number of things, such as Rituals, Celebrations, background-information on Deities, Entities, Philosophies, the Occult and Esoteric, personal experiences, Books of Shadows, Codices, Grimoires, and so much more.

The goal of WikiPagan is to be as comprehensive as possible. Controversial subjects--such as the role of Gerald Gardner in modern Wicca--and the role of pagan secret societies such as the Odin Brotherhood--are welcome here.
